What Is Our Purpose?

Pray Maury embraces the vision and supports the work of the TN Governmental Prayer Alliance (TNGPA). This prayer initiative stands on the shoulders of those who have gone before us over the years carrying a prayer burden for Maury County. We also stand side by side with intercessors already praying for Maury County. We promote and celebrate unity in the Bride of Christ and are not affiliated with any church or denomination.

What Do We Provide?

Pray Maury provides the opportunity to collectively and publicly pray for Maury County through Prayer on the Square. We pray in groups or as individuals, silently or aloud, on topics that are provided. The public is invited to gather on second Saturdays from 9 to 10 a.m.

How Did We Begin?

On Feb. 26, 2015, Joyce Breazeale, the county liaison for the TN Governmental Prayer Alliance (TNGPA) met with then County Mayor Charlie Norman, who signed a proclamation stating: “… a clarion call has been made and heard here in Maury County … to establish a new chapter, The Maury County Branch of the TN Governmental Prayer Alliance, to encourage the citizens of Maury County to enlist … and to unite in prayer for our county, our cities, our state, and our great nation in order that we may fulfill our divine destiny.”

Who Leads Pray Maury?

Pray Maury requires the core leadership team to be Christ-followers who are faithful in their church, morally pure, and willing to submit to the authority of their church leadership. This team meets regularly to pray, seek guidance, provide support and accountability to one another. An extended group of people supports the core leadership team. They are faithful to attend Prayer on the Square and help in a variety of ways.
